Customer Introduction
Coventry City Council, based in the West Midlands, England, is committed to supporting residents across the city through a wide range of services that promote wellbeing, opportunity, and economic growth.
One of the ways the council helps citizens into work is through the Coventry Job Shop, a dedicated employment support service offering CV workshops, interview coaching, and direct links to local employers.
The Job Shop partnered with VirtualSpeech to deliver immersive VR interview training at outreach events, helping participants build the skills and confidence needed to succeed in today’s job market.

The Goal
Coventry Job Shop leverages VirtualSpeech’s virtual reality (VR) platform to enhance support for job seekers, offering immersive mock interview experiences and interactive training sessions, including at events like Job Fest.
Alongside VirtualSpeech VR training, the Job Shop provides a wide range of services, such as CV workshops, interview coaching, and direct access to local job opportunities, helping individuals build skills and confidence to succeed in the job market.

"It was amazing to see how popular and engaging the sessions were - it really showed the value of immersive interview practice."
Lindsey Hines - Employment Officer, Employer Hub Team
The Solution
As part of its commitment to boosting employability, Coventry City Council’s Job Shop integrated VirtualSpeech’s VR interview training into community outreach events, most notably at Job Fest, a three-day initiative held across schools and community centres.
Multiple VR headsets were deployed across three locations, offering residents an immersive and accessible way to prepare for interviews. The technology was in constant use, reflecting strong engagement and interest.
Many participants reported increased confidence, and several went on to secure job offers thanks to the realistic, supportive practice provided by VirtualSpeech.

"VirtualSpeech provided a safe, realistic environment where people could practise interviews and build confidence. It’s a powerful tool for employability support."
Saleha Noreen - Employment Coach, Coventry City Council
