As the world has adapted to remote working, the way we deliver sales pitches has changed. Most people now deliver pitches online, through video conference calls or webinars.

This requires a unique skill set for delivery compared to in-person sales. For example, adapting to a lack of client feedback and body language cues on virtual calls can be difficult.

To address this and provide an effective way to improve these skills, we’ve created a course that combines best practices for virtual sales pitching with a realistic simulation to practice in. You'll learn key tips and then practice, improve and build your confidence in a virtual sales pitch simulator.

Course outcomes

This Virtual Sales Pitch course teaches you the fundamentals for pitching virtually, covering topics from finding out customer needs, to setting up your camera, to introducing yourself and overcoming objections.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to confidently deliver a sales pitch in an online meeting.

Course overview

There are two main parts to this blended course:

  • Online classes: Learn fundamental techniques and strategies for giving video-based sales pitches through articles, videos, quizzes and case studies. The course includes around 3 hours of online classes.
  • Virtual simulation: After completing the classes, you can practice what you've learnt by pitching in a realistic simulation, which mimics online meeting software such as Zoom, Skype, Webex and Microsoft Teams.

How does the simulation work?

Practice your sales pitch on a secure webpage that looks and feels like a video conferencing platform.

While delivering your pitch, the simulation will analyse your voice and delivery, providing feedback when you’ve finished on aspects such as pace, audience perception and confidence.

At the end of the pitch and throughout, answer text and audio-based questions from the virtual audience. You can also load in custom questions for a more targeted Q&A session.

Enable distractions while you present, such as mobile phones ringing and loud background noise, to test your pitching skills further.

What equipment is required?

Both the online classes and simulation run through a web browser, so no additional software or download is required. Unlike other VirtualSpeech soft skills training courses, there is no VR element, so a VR headset is not required.

The simulation has been tested across multiple browsers and runs smoothly on Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Edge.
